Marian A. Montalvo Poblete
Project
Assessing the influence of hydrologic model complexity on snowmelt and streamflow simulation
Short Bio
Marian was a visiting undergraduate student from the University of Engineering and Technology in Peru. She joined us for a research internship in Winter 2024 through the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP). Marian’s research focused on understanding and predicting uncertainties in streamflow data under climate change. She used a nonparametric estimation method developed by Oliveira and Vrugt (2022, WRR) to estimate the uncertainties in streamflow data at the Bow and Banff gauge. Her work supported several important tasks, including model performance evaluation, data assimilation, and uncertainty quantificaiton.
