Short Bio

Pollen is a PhD student in Water Resources Engineering at the University of Alberta, co-supervised by Dr. Hongli Liu and Dr. Jennifer Nafziger. Before joining the University of Alberta, he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Water Resources Engineering at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET). His master’s research focused on storm surge inundation modeling in data-scarce regions such as Bangladesh.

His current research focuses on hydrological and hydraulic modeling, with an emphasis on integrating hydrological and hydrodynamic models to improve flood mapping and prediction in Canada. His research interests include precipitation extremes, urban flood modeling, climate change impacts, coastal hazards and rainwater harvesting. Outside of research, Pollen enjoys drawing.
